Now that you have looked at the 10 big companies that own so many of the brands that you know so well, think about what kind of problems it can create if so few companies own so much.  Think about competition, pricing, health, advertising,creativity.

Who owns the media?

Have a look at the website http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/cool/giants/ which shows who owns the media.  Select one of the companies out of Viacom, News Corp, Walt Disney etc and have a look at the type of companies they own.  Do you know any of these companies?  What do you think is the effect if one company controls so many types of media.  Please comment.
